The Network of Journalists on Indigenous Issues was created in 2020 in response to the poor character and form of media coverage of Indigenous Issues.
- Indigenous Issues are often under reported by the print, electronic and social media.
- Indigenous issues are treated lightly without the necessary dialectics in socio-economic and political discourse. Media practitioners are often unaware of the link between Indigenous Issues, food security, livelihood, peace and conflict prevention necessary for sustainable development
